Late evening of May 8th 2013, a fight between antifascists and nazis happened in Brest, Belarus. The reason for the fight was a nazi provocation. One of the nazi started to rise his hand in a roman salut and shout “Zieg Heil” and “White Power.” Antifascists were better skilled in fighting, so one of the nazis got hospitalised.

Beginning from evening of the 9th of May, cops started the arrests of antifascists they knew. First the flats of two antifascists were searched, their computers and laptops were taken and they were detained for 10-day terms. On the morning of the 10th of May, searches continued. Four more flats were searched, and, again, computers and some personal things were taken by police. One of the antifascists wasn’t at home, so he remains free and three others were detained. The last thing arrested people were able to say was that cops used violent torture, trying to push them to give “right” evidence. On the 11th of May, one more antifascist was arrested and two more are wanted.

Police started a criminal case against them on group hooliganism involving heavy bodily injuries. In the end, only Dzmitry Zvan'ko was tried and got 5 years of prison in March 2014. In April 2015, the case was reopened and more people were tried in July and sentenced in October - Roman Bogdan (sentenced to 8 years) and Dzmitry Stsyashenka (who is currently serving 4 years on anther sentence was sentenced to 5 years).  A third anti-fascist whose full name is unknown was also sentenced to 5 years.  On December 15, 2015 sentences for Dzmitry and Roman were each reduced by two years because they paid their restitution.
